03 December 2013 Dear Sir,
I have efile my return for AY 13-14 and now i got intimation 143(1)from CPC.I was expecting an refund amount of RS. 4370 but now in the intimation the refund amount is 0 and tax payable is Rs.6611(net amount payable).Do i need to pay this amount to ITD. But my company has already deducted tds from my salary than why do i need to pay again.

03 December 2013 FIRST OF ALL YOU NEED TO FIND OUT THE REASON FOR SUCH DIFFERENCE;
IF THE DIFFERENCE IS ON ACCOUNT OF TDS ONLY. IT MIGHT BE DUE TO NON DEPOSITION OF TDS BY YOUR EMPLOYER OR AFTER DEPOSITING TDS YOU EMPLOYER MAY NOT HAVE FURNISHED TDS RETURN. BECOUSE OF THAT TDS WILL NOT BE REFLECTING IN YOUR ACCOUNT(27A) AND YOU GOT THE DEMAND NOTICE FROM THE DEPARTMENT.

IF THIS IS THE REASON THEN DEPARTMENT CANNOT RECOVER THE AMOUNT FROM YOU HOWEVER U NEED TO VISIT YOUR CONCERN AO FOR DELETION OF THE DEMAND AFTER AO'S SATISFACTION.
NORMALLY DEPARTMENT PEOPLE DONT ENTERTAIN 143(1) QUERY AND INSIST FOR FILLING OF RECTIFICATION APPLICATION; BUT U WILL GET DEMAND DELETED FORM THERE ONLY.

IF THE DIFFERENCE IS DUE TO SOME OTHER REASON THEN U NEED TO FIGURE OUT THE REASON ANS FILLED THE RECTIFICATION APPLICATION ONLINE.
