I am going for an industrial training in the last year of my articleship. But, the company is not an approved organisation by the ICAI, i.e. the name does not appear in the list of industrial training providers, but it meets the requirement criteria, Will my training will be rejected? Should i apply for the Industrial Training approval form on behalf of the company? What will be the time taken in the processing of the form?
I will suggest you to firstly contact to the Institute official to approve the organisation for Industrial training thereafter, you will apply therein.

Thanks for the reply Sir. But, the form for industrial training mentions that the organisation should meet the required criteria OR should be approved. There is no mandatory compliance for the organisation to be approved or registered with the institute. Therefore, i think that it would not be mandatory, and moreover the company is a leading MNC, which has the requirements met.

If you are considering undergoing industrial training at a company that is not listed as an approved organization by ICAI, but it meets the criteria for industrial training, hereโs a detailed guide on how to proceed:
### **1. **Understanding ICAI Requirements:**
- **ICAI Approved Organizations:** While ICAI does have a list of approved organizations for industrial training, this is primarily for convenience and to ensure that the organizations meet certain standards and criteria for providing quality training.
- **Criteria for Industrial Training:** The essential requirement is that the organization should meet the criteria specified by ICAI for providing industrial training. This includes having the necessary infrastructure and the ability to provide relevant exposure to the trainee.
### **2. **Approval of Non-Listed Organizations:**
- **Approval Process:** - **Application for Approval:** If the company you are interested in is not listed but meets the criteria, you can apply for its approval. This process involves submitting an application to ICAI for the company to be considered as an approved organization.
- **ICAI Form for Approval:** - **Form Submission:** You will need to fill out and submit the necessary form to ICAI for the company to be approved. This form is typically available on the ICAI website or can be obtained from the regional office.
- **Processing Time:** - **Time Frame:** The time taken for processing the approval form can vary. It is advisable to apply well in advance. Typically, it might take several weeks to a few months depending on the ICAI office and the completeness of your application.
### **3. **Training Without Formal Approval:**
- **Training Acceptance:** - **ICAI Regulations:** If the company is not formally approved but meets all the criteria, the training may still be considered valid as long as the criteria for industrial training are fulfilled. The main concern would be whether the training provides the required exposure and learning experience as mandated by ICAI.
- **Documentation:** - **Maintain Records:** Ensure that you maintain proper documentation and records of your training. This includes detailed job descriptions, work assignments, and feedback from your supervisors.
### **4. **Procedure for Applying:**
- **Form Submission:** - **Approval Request:** Submit a formal request to ICAI along with the necessary documents to get the organization recognized as an approved training provider. Include details about the company, its operations, and how it meets the training criteria.
- **ICAI Guidelines:** Follow the guidelines provided by ICAI for the application process. Ensure all required information and documents are accurately completed and submitted.
### **5. **Alternatives:**
- **Training at Approved Companies:** If there is uncertainty or a risk that the non-listed company might not be accepted, consider looking for industrial training opportunities at companies that are already listed as approved by ICAI. This could avoid potential complications and ensure smoother validation of your training.
### **Summary:**
1. **Apply for Approval:** If the company is not listed, apply for its approval with ICAI by filling out the appropriate form and submitting it along with supporting documents.
2. **Processing Time:** Expect a processing time of several weeks to a few months for the approval.
3. **Training Validity:** If the company meets the criteria but is not formally approved, maintain detailed records of your training. Ensure the training aligns with ICAI requirements.
4. **Seek Alternatives:** If you prefer a hassle-free process, consider applying for industrial training with ICAI-approved organizations.
By following these steps, you can ensure that your industrial training experience is aligned with ICAI regulations and requirements. If you need further assistance or have specific queries, feel free to ask!
