Income tax clearance

My brother is going to abroad for permanent residance in this case is there any clearnance taken from income tax department. If yes then what is the procedure.

well it is not necessary for your brother to do anything. However, where AO feels that any person is leaving India with intention to never come back, he/she can issue the notice under section 174.

Seems Form 30 C has to be filed before the jurisdictional ITO. Based on the above the ITO may ask to file form 31 and if so happens,the ITO will issue clearance certificate in form 33.

wih regards to this very old discussion, I just wanted to check if the Income-tax ITCC Instruction No: 2 Date of Issue: 13/02/2003 is applicable in these circumstances.
