04 June 2014 I am a student studying engineering. I have income from FD's interest of about Rs. 90,000.
Bank deducted a TDS of Rs.9,000.
I took some part time tuition classes and earned around Rs. 60,000.
Which ITR (ITR 1, ITR 2 or any other) should I file to get my Refund as I think my total income is not taxable?

04 June 2014 You have part time tution income, It is not your profession so you can show tution income as "Income from other sources".
You can file ITR-2.

04 June 2014 You file with ITR -2 under head other income

04 June 2014 Why can't I file ITR 1 under head income from other sources?

04 June 2014 My view, it can be covered under ITR-1 itself. ITR-1 covering income from other sources excluding winning from lottories & horse races. so your both incomes are covered under other sources
