Import export code - very urgent pls help

Ours is Radio Channel. We want to import certain equipment from foreign. Can we obtain Import Export Code(IEC). If not what is the best possible way for us to import the equipment. Please guide me. Very urgent. Thanks in advance

Yes you can take IEC code for import of equipment. Please read Foreign Trade Policy. If you are not end user then their is no need to take IEC number.

03 April 2012 as per provision laid down in handbook of procedures vol-1 (2009-2014) para 2.8(iii) the IEC is exempt if they are importing through IEC is not mandatory this condition.

We need to submit PAN card details while applying for IEC.If there is a mistake in PAN with regard to date of incorporation what we could do.

Yes, it is required to file self certified copy of PAN. if there is mistake in date of incorporation, then firstly correct the PAN and then file application for IEC Code.

07 April 2012 as per DGFT PUBLIC NOTICE No.84/(RE 2010)/2009-14 dtd 11.11.2011:

PAN Number(correct) PAN Issuing Authority,must mandatory fillup at the time of filing the form anf-2a.

07 April 2012 sir, we are going to import the equipment it will take 1 month of delivery time(this equipment is vital for our company).Mean while can we place import order with importer and apply for PAN correction and make application for IEC. Is it possible.
sir please suggest me the best possible method in this situation.

07 April 2012 No,in my opinion, you must file modification in IEC code within 3 working days department amend it.
