hello everyone,

My brother stay with parents in rented house. The lease agreement is in favour of Mother. Now he wants to get into sublease agreement with mother to get benefits of HRA.
Can he do this?

02 January 2014 He can enter into rent agreement with his mother and avail benefit of rent paid.

Please make sure that rent is actually paid through cheque to substantiate the claim.

What i meant, is your parents has entered in to Rent agreement?

So check if it allows for sub renting of property, if nothing is mentioned then u can go as advised by Siddarth.
