My question : housing loan taken in Joint name along with wife and she is house wife no source of income, Can the husband claim total amount of housing laon and interest and what extent please clarify.

In housing loan case, bank will issue a interest certificate and as per certificate u can claim.

Check the few things,
01. Whos name apprearing first on the certificate
02. Check full repayment is made from the account of husband.
03. Self declration from wife, that she will not be claiming this in her income tax return.
If all the above conditions fullfill then husband can claim the full interest & repayment benefit in his income tax return.
Thats it.
