Gta services payment of service tax..

17 July 2013 Dear Sir,

we are in manufacuring in writing component and we have taken Service Tax regn under GTA services, also we have not taking cenvat credit on Input credit, i want to clarfiy that shall we paid service tax on Carriage inward and Outward, and getting the credit. please advise

17 July 2013 Only service tax paid by you on inward carriage you can take the cenvat credit.

21 July 2013 Yes, inward is eligible and regarding outward it is permissible upto your own depot. When you avail credit you must have records to prove that the freight element is for inward materials and you can choose to pay separate challan for it.
