GSTR3B Late Fee

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
If you've received a call from the GST office about late GSTR 3B filings for FY18-19, you may be facing a notice. It's possible to request a waiver of late fees or arrange to pay them in instalments by contacting the GST officer directly. The discussion also outlines the current late fee structure, which varies by turnover and return type, and includes details on interest charges for delayed tax payments. Be aware that GSTR-3B will become non-editable from July 2025, and returns are time-barred after three years, making prompt filing crucial.

Important Timing Updates
GSTR-3B will be non-editable from July 2025—post-filing revisions must use GSTR-1 or GSTR-1A.
GST returns are time-barred after 3 years—late corrections won't be permitted post that window.
Bottom Line
Prompt filing and tax payment remain your best defense. Delays attract daily penalties and interest, and late corrections may become impossible beyond July 2025.
