whether rent recvd to a professional should be included in gross total recepts calculatd for 9000000 limit of registration...

Yes, the limit under service tax in my view is assessee based and not individual service based, Hence rent + prof. receipts to be grossed up to arrive at the total.

Should the rent be from residential premises.. then it shall not fall under service tax at all..

Rent from residential premises shall not fall under the service tax net .. hence not to be included..
