10 December 2013 Expenses (i.e. Advocate Fee) incurred by chartered accountant on behalf of client. And the same reimbursed by client (i.e. Advocate Fee) by way of reimbursement of expenses. Whether chartered accountant liable to deduct TDS on Advocate Fee?

10 December 2013 you need to undergo gmcs course only once since u completed articleship b4 1.5.2012.

10 December 2013 if auditor pays fee to advocate as a pure agent he can claim it as re-imbursement from client
.
.
however he have to provide due supporting and advocate invoice to client
.
TDS not applicable on re-imbursement expences
.
please note that client only treated as service receiver here and he will be liable to deposit service tax under reverse charge if he received service from individual advocate or firm of advocates

10 December 2013 yes, no tds on reimbursement of out of pocket exp.

10 December 2013
A student who has passed Intermediate / Professional Education (Examination – II) / Professional Competence Course and is serving his last 12 months of articles is eligible to complete the course. The requirement of compulsory attendance in this course applies to all the Articled/ Audit Assistants:

A student after being declared successful in the Final Examination under old or new scheme can be admitted as an associate member only after completion of the course on General Management and Communication Skills

A student who completes Three Months’ Residential Programme in General Management, Personality Development and Communication Skills organized by the Board of Studies will not be required to undergo GMCS Course.

10 December 2013 Thanks for the reply. However, I have one more doubt. Is it possible to levy interest on such payment u/s 201 in assessment of CA Firm return? Because it's source of income for the Advocate and it should be deducted TDS on that.

10 December 2013 On prof fees paid to adv tds u/s 194J is applicable but for reimbursement no tds and no int u/s 201 is applicable.
