One of our client has paid a huge sum towards participation of Exhibition conducted by CII. Whether the maoney paid as exhibition fee is subjected to FBT

No. Expenditure on sponsorship of any event organised by any trade Association or any other body is specifically excluded in Sales Promotion Expenses.
If you treat expenditure As Conference expenditure, then also Fee paid for participation by the employee in any conference is excluded in FBT liability.

I HAVE READ A NOTIFICATION & COURT JUDGEMENT REGARDING THIS TYPE OF ISSUE WHEN I EXACTLY DONT REMEMBER BUT THE CONTENTS IN THAT WAS VERY CLEAR that exhibition expenses dont attract FBT
