09 October 2012 In case of any Existing private company if want to appoint any person as director, we must have to choose category either promoter, independent or professional.
But in case of private co. we can't choose independent so which category we must have to choose? Please clarify with reason.

Yes, one of them should be selected. But in case of private company Independent clause will not apply, so when you file Form-32 of any director in private company ignore Independent you choose either promoter or professional.
