First Stage Dealer (FSD) is a person who is registered under the Central Excise Act.
FSD purchases goods from a manufacture and sells them to either a SSD or other persons.
FSD prepares an excise invoice and can pass on credit of excise duty liability to the buyer.
The buyer can claim CENVAT credit of excise duty on the basis of invoice of FSD.
