01 February 2012 I want to file my first income tax return this march,, i am totally ignorant in tax matters as i am posted in audit team of my firm,, i want to know how to file a nil return as i just have stipend income.
please help me to file my nil return for assessment year 2011-12 & 2012-13.

01 February 2012 If you do not have taxable income, then it is not mandatory for you to file return.

But still it is better that you file a nil return. You can file your ITR online.

For AY 2012-13, you can file an ITR till 31st July 2012.

02 February 2012 You can use ITR-1 for AY 2011-12. For AY 2012-13, we need to wait for notifications from I.T. Deptt.
