Finding out effective date of registration under bst

CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO FIND OUT THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF REGISTRATION UNDER THE BST ACT?I HAVE MISPLACED MY BST REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE ISSUED IN AURANGABAD.PLEASE LET ME KNOW AT THE EARLIEST.

COPY OF THE RETURNS IS ALSO MISPLACED.AND THE DEPARTMENT IS THEMSELVES NOT HAVING THE RECORDS AS SUCH I GUESS.THE DEPARTMENT HAS RAISED A DEMAND ORDER FOR THE PERIOD 1997-1998 IN 2011 FOR WHICH BST REGISTRATION DATE IS REQUIRED.IF REGISTRATION IS AFTER 1997-98 THEN THE CASE IS CLOSED THEN AND THERE ITSELF.SO ANY OTHER WAY TO GET THE CERTIFICATE?

IF TAX AUDIT WAS CONDUCTED THEN ASK UR CA HE MAY HAVE THE COPY. ELSE THERE IS NO WAY IN MY OPINION.

THE DEPARTMENT HAS RAISED A DEMAND ORDER FOR THE PERIOD 1997-98 AND 1998-1999 WHICH IS TIME BARRED BY LAW OF LIMITATION.IN THIS CASE CAN U PLEASE GUIDE AS TO WHAT IS TO BE DONE FOR CLOSING THIS ISSUE AS THIS IS ALREADY A TIME BARRED CASE?

THE DEPARTMENT IS SAYING THAT AS THE ORDER HAS BEEN PASSED U NEED TO GO FOR APPEAL?WHT ACCORDING TO YOU SHOULD BE DONE BY ME TO CLOSE THE ISSUE BECAUSE THE DEPARTMENT CANNOT RAISE DEMAND AFTER ALMOST 12-13 YERAS HAVE PASSED?

you take a help of a lawyer dealing in this cases and ask him to reply to dept on the basis of limitation act.

WE HAVE APPROACHED THE LAWYERS THERE IN AURANGABAD.BUT THAT LAWYERS DONT SEEM TO BE DAT COMPETENT.THEY ARE TELLING TO GO FOR SETTLMENT.BUT WHEN OUR CASE IS STRONG ENOUGH WHY DO WE GO FOR SETTLEMENT?THE POWER OF LAW OF LIMITATION WILL BE WITHDRAWN ONCE WE GO FOR SETTLEMENT WHICH WE DONT WISH TO DO.SO DEN CAN U SUGGEST AN HONEST AND EFFICIENT ADVOCATE WHO CAN GUIDE US IN THIS MATTER AND SOLVE OUR ISSUE WITHOUT ANY SETTLEMENT?
