Filling items in itr4 - medical expenses

22 July 2014 Dear Expert,

Please tell me the sections in which to fill these expenses in ITR4.

- Medical Expenses of Self, Spouse and dependent children
- LIC and SBI Life premium (my understanding is 80C in Schedule VI-A)
- PPF investement (my understanding is 80C in Schedule VI-A)

24 July 2014 Yes, LIC and SBI life premium and PPF investment in section 80C subject to max of Rs. 1 Lac.
You can claim deduction u/s 80D in respect of medical expenses of self, spouse and dependent children in case you have taken mediclaim policy subject to maximum of Rs. 15000. (Rs. 20000/- in any of them is senior citizen).
