Registration under Service tax was done in 2004 but till date limit of exempted service tax ( thresh hold )was not crossed neither service tax was collected. My question is :
1) whether liable to file Return of service
Tax. ?
2) How to cancel service Tax no. in such
case ?
3) Can we file nil Return if there was no
service tax collection ?

Dear Sir,
If you take the service tax registration no than u are eligible to pay service tax and same has to collect from customer.
you should submit the letter with dept for the same that you have not crossed the threshold limit but you have taken the service tax no .
Than if officer is satisfied with record than you can file the return with nil figure and surrender the no.
