I am a student pursuing Chartered Accountancy Course. I am registered under direct entry scheme. I started my articleship (training) w.e.f. 18th January 2014. Because of commutation difficulties I took a transfer to another firm. I got re-registered in the new firm on 1st June 2014. I got a confirmation letter stating that I am registered as an article assistant under NEW CA w.e.f. 1st June 2014.
After I gave the intermediate exams in November 2014, My principal intimated me about the letter which he had received dated 10th October 2014 from the institute stating that re-registration of student stands cancelled w.e.f 1st June 2014 as it is beyond the eligibility of the principal to train more than three articles.
Since then I have been visiting the institute to resolve the concern. But neither the institute nor the principal are co-operating and they are not giving me a positive response or helping me in finding a possible solution.
The people at the institute as well as the principal are blaming each other.
In this situation I am suffering without any fault on my side. It is a question of my career .Despite of all my personal problems I have been preparing for the exams from last 14 months. I am losing my training period of 6 months. This is also raising a question on my result of the intermediate exams held in November 2014 as the result could be withheld for non completion of article training of 9 months which is a pre-requisite for appearing in exam under direct entry scheme without any ignorance on my part.
I would request you to kindly look into the matter provide me some solutions that I can do. I have mailed the top authorities of ICAI the matter on 25/11/2014 also gave hard copies in the office but I have not received any response from them. What shall I do now I am helpless. I need advise of you people. Please help

The first lesson in this case should be....However arrogant it might appear, first make the enquiry with the CA about vacancy and then only join the articleship. Now find out a CA having VACANCY and get yourself registered with that CA. Do not forget to thank the existing NON -VACANCY CA for NOT informing you the same in the midst of your EXAM. All the best.

i asked the institute before joining about vacancy then they said its fine more over the gave me email and a confirmation letter about having me registered as article under the new ca.

First and foremost, please STOP putting blame on anybody. And if at all you want to BLAME, blame yourself. Understand one thing, ICAI is a regulatory body. Dont take something as ADVANCE RULING by ICAI. Ok? I know the case where after 10 years, ICAI asked my friend as to why he did NOT take the permission of ICAI during his articleship for doing additional course. So read carefully what I suggested. Find out a CA having vacancy and get going.
