Extension of due date

02 September 2014 Sir, As every one knows there no clarity with regard to extension of due date for filing Income tax return in case of tax audit. Should we presume that the extension is only w.r.t tax audit report and proceed to file ITR. If it is so then the task looks really impossible with less than a month left.What is the best suggestion?

02 September 2014 Yes extension is only for Tax Audit report. That million dollar question at the moment is that The income tax returns itself require the date of furnishing of audit report and date of signing of audit report which can only be filed after completion of Tax audit report.

CBDT mat may soon come out with clarification in this regard and may also extend the due date of IT return. But in my view it is better that you get both Tax Audit and filing of return completed on or before 30.09.2014.

05 September 2014 Just got the information that the Return in ITR6 is now being accepted without mentioning the Tax Audit date.
