whether employees state insurance (esi) applicable to software developing company??

Yes. it is applicable

but it is applicable only to factories engaged in manufacturing process and ours is an IT industry so no manufacturing process involved

If it is in house software preparation then it is excluded. But if you are customized software or packed software producing company it is considered as deemed manufacturing company. Even though it is not actually involved in manufacturing activity.
That is a reason Excise duty is also applicable for software industry.
It is better to check nearest ESI center.
