22 August 2011 Assesse daied & all his tax liability & return of the year in which assesse died heve been submitted.
how ever no return after that filed as assesse is dead.

1 is it required to send any intimation, latter etc, to AO informing him about the death of assesse & discontinuance of his bussiness?

2 if no such latter etc. send to AO then any penelty etc?( not income arised after death of assesse)

3 what is procedure for discontinuing frturn due to death of assesse.

22 August 2011 1) Better to intimate
2) if there is no income or no taxable income no penalty has be lived
3) Just intimate to the AO through a letter with the enclosure of Death certificate by the representative assesse like legal heirs or any other if specially appointed by the died assesse with an acknowledgment of receipt of intimation.

22 August 2011 If return in respect to income till the date of his death has already been filed, no further need arises to file. Expert D. Tirumala 's advise is perfect.
