Delay in investment in 54ec

There was Long Term Capital Gain on which investment was made in bond as per Section 54EC, but this inv was made beyond six months i.e in 8th month... is there any remedy for such late inv. and the reason being agreement was made in dec for sale but payment was recd in Feb and accordingly Investment was delayed.. how can i avoid tax on such late Investment as there are chances of dissallowance of such exemption... Is there any Case Law for such event ?
