WHAT ARE THE TAX SAVING OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO NRI'S U/S 80C?

I believe all the options are available except where any option doesn't permit investment by NRI. The section as such doesn't discriminate on the basis of the residency status.

But i have read somewhere that Non-residents Indians are not allowed to open a PPF account & also barred from investing in National Saving Certificates...

I want to know what other options are not available to NRI's u/s 80C?? Is there any prescribed list for such investments??
