MY EMPLOYER NOT GIVE ME FULL DEDUCTION UNDER 80D IN MEDICAL INSURANCE WHILE COMPUTING SERVICE TAX. THEY GIVE ONLY NET PREMIUM EXCLUDING SERVICE TAX. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW CAN I GO TO RTI! - BINOD KUMAR GIRI
there are two opinions on availability of deduction for service tax paid on premium.
One school of thought is that service tax is not allowed as deduction.
the other school of thought believes that all the charges including service tax paid to keep the policy in force is deductible.
if you wish to follow the second thought, then even if your employer has not considered the service tax amount, you can claim the same at the time of filing service tax return.
