25 January 2011 FOR CLAIMING DEDUCTION OF MEDICLAIM WHETHER IT IS REQUIRED TO PAY THE PREMIUM AMT FROM HIS OWN BANK ACCOUNT OR NOT.
IF PAYMENT MADE FROM A PERSON'S SPOUSE OR PARENT THEN A PERSON CAN CLAIM DEDUCTION FROM HIS INCOME.

25 January 2011 The payment should be out of his income chargeable to tax and as a corollary, restricts payment from his own bank account meaning thereby, as per my understanding, if paid from wife's bank account dis allowance is very much possible.

25 January 2011 yes, he can claim deduction. There should be payment by cheque, it may be from his account or his spouse or his parent a/c

25 January 2011 practically, there is no disallowance in such case, there is some chances in which payment is made from other account, afterwards payment is remitted to such account.
