04 December 2015 female individual, salary 35000 p. m. , has dependent mother suffered from paralysis. medical treatment expense about 300000 Rs. .Can she claim deduction. how & what documents needed? in which form she would file income tax return?

04 December 2015 Paralysis is a 'locomotor disability' eligible for deduction u/s 80DD amounting to Rs. 50,000 per annum while computing your Income tax.

If the disability is 80% or more Rs. 1,00,000 can be claimed instead of Rs. 50,000.

Document needed is certificate from 'medical authoriy' in Form 10 I.

File ITR-1 (SAHAJ) since only income is salary.
