Correction claimed amount more than balance

26 September 2016 i have filed the correction for tds return. The statement got rejected. Rejection reason is showing as "Correction claimed amount more than balance". Can you please explain me what this means and what should i do next?

26 September 2016 Hi,

It means that the balance or unutilised Chalan amount is less than the amount you have claimed in your return. For example, if the Chalan is for 100 Rs and in your correction you have claimed for Rs 101, then this type of error happens. Please recheck once again.
