department accepting black and white returns. Is the department doing wrong? or it will send notice later ?

26 July 2011 dear sir,
Sorry for the inconvenient cause to you.
i mean sahaj and sugam which are colored returns.
My question: is it is compulsory to submit itr-1sahaj or itr 4-sugam in colored print.
The department here (Indore) accepting black and white print out of sahaj and sugam. I have doubt that may be later they can send notice for not filing in proper format. Please suggest what i do?

27 July 2011 Paper return of sahaj and sugam shoul be filed,as u rightly understood, in the specified colour. If department at Indore is accepting otherwise, the reason is best to known themself. If the return is filed as you said in balack and white format, the department has a right to say ,in future, that the return has been filed in an 'inapplicable form'. But the Madras and Allahabad High court's have said,though in a different context, that a return filed in an 'inapplicable form' does not render the return 'invalid'.
Citation :-Dhampur Sugar Mills ltd Vs. CIT (1973) 90 ITR 236 (All).
Further, the assessee can seek shelter under section 292B of the Income tax Act,1961.

27 July 2011 you helped me a lot and of course release my tension too....... but sir i have filed some returns.. and some returns awaited for signature of clients.. could u suugest me what i will do for further returns?
