21 January 2017 Dear Sir/Mam
One Of My Client Contributed Amount Of Rs.2Lakhs For A Charitable Institution Which Eligible For Claiming Exemption. So How Can We Calculate The Institution Comes Under 100% Claiming Or 50% Claiming Exemption. How To Recognize It.Kindly Guide Me.

Thanks By Advance

21 January 2017 First of all see if that institution is recognized u/s 80G or not means whether donation given to it qualify for deduction u/s 80G. and for determining 50% or 100% you should get a donation certificate from that institution mentioning 50% or 100% exemption. Generally only a few funds like Prime minister's national relief fund or CM relief fund etc are exempt 100%. most of the others qualify for only 50%.
