28 December 2010 Hello sir, Acyually i wanted know about Excise duty, like when it arises, how it is calculated, who is responsible, how it is calculated and paid, what are the nature of a/c ie RG 23A, RG 23C, PLA and what this a/c means

29 December 2010 Taxable event for excise duty is Manufacturing the goods in India. Excise duty need to calcualted based on the tarrif details. RG23A &C is the registers need to be maintained as per excise rules. PLA is the payment ledger
