Cash verification how to find bal as on march 31

17 December 2010 Physically verify the cash balance as on march 31,2011 or recocile the cash balance from the date of verification to March 31,2011.

My question is if m checking cash balance on may 2011. how will i cum to know bal of march 31, 2011. pls tell in detail.
