17 November 2013 I am freshly qualified chartered & persuading a job currently in a NBFC.I wan to pursue my future career in International Taxation, even in India or abroad.
So kindly so please suggest the correct path, so that I may not be misguided and I can go best in my career.

Thanks in advance & expecting best opinions.

18 November 2013 Pragya,

Very honestly, in the current market scenario it is very difficult to do sectoral or service line shift.

However, if you have decided to make a career out of international taxation, it is advisable that you look for jobs with medium size firms dealing in international taxation matters to start with. There are several such firms in Mumbai atleast. the reason for looking for medium size firm is that bigger firms won't accept an inexperienced person in from a non-relevant background (read banking and NBFC).

You may go for some certification course in transfer pricing and international taxation to boast you profile.

So the correct path should be:

1. go for certificate courses in transfer pricing and taxation

2. look for medium size firms

3. spend some time with such firm..learn

and

4. then move the big firms like EY, KPMG, BMR etc etc..

But be assured that this path is long and difficult.
