I am a salaried person. My employer has already deducted Rs. 6000/- as Income tax for FY 2013-2014. Now I need to pay remaining tax of Rs. 440/- [Income Tax 428 + Education Cess 12] on FD interest for FY 2013-2014. I have not filed ITR yet. Can I pay this tax now as self assessment Tax? Do I need to pay any interest penalty u/s 234A, 234B and 234C?
What will be the due date to pay this tax.

also how is service tax , tds and vat applicable on the same?

My client under KVAT had paid VAT of Rs.4500 when Intelligence Authorities visited shop. also compounding penalty of Rs.3000 paid. Now the case has been selected by the Audit wing of VAT authorities and proposing to levy penalty to the extent of upto 5 times of Rs.4500. kindly advice whether this is justice and legally holds good.
