Transfer of bonds/shares

I am holding some Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd.(REC)- 54EC CAPITAL GAIN TAX EXEMPTION BONDS-SERIES VIII in dematerialized form.

I am having Demat a/cs in Saraswat Co-op. Bank Ltd (DP ID : IN300829)and another demat with Sharekhan Ltd. ( DP ID: IN300513).

I wanted to close my Demat with Saraswat Bank and transferred all my shares/bonds to Demat a/c with Sharekhan Ltd.

The Saraswat Bank transferred all my holdings except above said REC bonds to Sharekhan. According to Saraswat Bank the bonds having lockin upto 31/05/2012 can not be transferred.

In fact this is not the sale, merely transfer of these bonds from my one Demat accout to another Demat account.

I therefore can't close my demat with the bank. I don't know what I should do now.

Please advise.

Ours is a 100 % subsidiary company of a US Company. Our parent company has lost the share certificate issued to them by us. What is the procedure of issuing duplicate share certificate to the 100 % foreign holding company.

how to calculate capital gains?

I have over the past one and half years, been trading in stocks. I would like to know how to calculate short term capital gains. As an example:

1. Bought 50 shares of XYZ company in october 2008 at Rs. 100/- per share.

2. Bought another 40 shares of same XYZ in November 2008at Rs 70/- per share.

3. Sold 20 shares of XYZ in March 2009 at Rs. 80/- per share

4. Sold 20 shares of XYZ in June 2009 at Rs 85/-

My question is how do I calculate CGT for AY 2008 - 2009 and 2009 - 2010?

Can somebody help?
