i would like to enter stock market. which is the best short term / long term investments.

In Stock Market, high risk is involve, you should maintain portfolio, means you should not invest full money in one share or bond.
However currently market is up near to BSE SENSEX 17600, you shuold wait and invest your money very carefully.
As per my view - Banking sectors are best for long term & Real Estate for Short term.

welll,,, it depends u want to take risk or not... Go for A scripts for long term investment.. ANd dont enter market right noe. enter after 21st May. one big correction is expected in market.
