If one is importing innerwear/underwear from Australia to India - can som1 clarify what are the costs and duties. Will it be on MRP or on actual buying price (as MRP is very high and products will be sold on highly discounted prices in local markets).

also the products will have USD tags - is it compulsory to have INR tags put - can that be done later once products land in the country?

am new to all this so if som1 can help with details will be great help. i want to do evrything legally and not get into any trouble! but som1 told me total duty will come to 30% on the MRP and not on buying price - which means it will be commercially unviable to import in india?

Import duty

Dear Experts,

We would like to inform you that we import products from China and pay the import duty [Central Government].

While selling the goods locally, we are suppose to charge the vat @ 14.5% for every invoice.

We got to pay the entire 14.5% tax value to the government as sales tax[state Government].

My doubt here is, can we adjust the paid import duty towards the sales tax? or do we have to pay the import duty as well as sales tax?

Kindly give us your valuable suggestion on the above said matter in order to reduce the tax liability?

Regards

Eou exemption

X ltd has identified a plot of barren land in India for constructing a Laboratory with an intention to export 100% of its research services and thus avail an EOU Status. For the purpose of construction of research lab, X ltd will import capital goods (which includes electrical items, HVAC and other capital items). X ltd will place the import order for purchase of these capital items immediately with construction in progress. Can X ltd avail EOU benefits for the purchase of these capital goods? What documentary procedure will it require to follow?

Find how much fee we have already paid

I wanted to know how much I have already paid The ICAI.
Actually I forgot how much I paid for CA-IPCC
registration, i.e. whether I paid for article-ship along with it or not.
