Can the Chairman of a public unlisted company attend the audit committee meeting even if he is not a member of such committee

If Chairman attends, will the meeting be void?

04 July 2013 He can attend as special invitee for the meeting with the permission of members of audit committee.

04 July 2013 thanks sir. i believe someone told me that chairman should not attend the audit committee meeting.

Though reading your opinion, it sounds justified that the members consent if obtained, it should be no issue.

04 July 2013 Yes, any director can also attend with the permission of members.
