Wrong tan number mentioned in challan

18 January 2012 We are depositing tax by bank. One alphabet of our TAN number mentioned wrong in challan. Although name of our company mentioned correct in challan. Bank has denied to correct TAN number. Kindly provide solution to resolve this.Also inform what will be the situation of whom I had deduction tax. will they get credit of tax deducted or not ? Please guide

18 January 2012 I also encountered same situation in one of my client. There we did approach the bank within 7 days of payment (this option is available since 01-09-2011).
In your case if 7 days elapsed then you can request your TDS circle to rectify the same
