Does drawing of Wire to lesser diameter wire amount to manufacturing. Please state relevant rules/judgement.

Dont know the case law but it should not. Refer definition of manufacturing :)

AGREE. IN MY OPINION ALSO IT DOES NOT AMOUNT TO MANUFACTURING.

Thanks for the replies but I got the answer from one of my seniors according to whom wire drawing will amount to manufacture as per note 10 to Section 15 of Central Excise Tariff Act (Covering Base Metals).
