29 October 2013 Hi,

I am an IPCC student coverted under Direct entry scheme.

Registered for Articleship training on 26th december and omitted to pay conversion fee along with Form the same will be intimated by institute over phone by mid april and remitted to institute with in the month.

And the coversion registration date stood effect from 24 th april (that is after payment of conversion fee).

And institute informed me you are eligible to write exam of may 2014.

I applied for nov 2013 based on eligibility as 9 months completed articleship training.

Now i received admit card for Nov 2013 and a week back i received a letter from the institute that we have issued admit card on provisional basis and send your proof of your registration documents for to regularise to admit in nov 2013 exams

On institute records my articleship training date as 26-12-2012 and conversion date as 23-04-2013(Default in payment).

Will they allow me for to write exams???

29 October 2013 Hi

Yes, they will allow you, if you complete your 9 months of article ship before commencement of exam. You have got the admit card on provisional basis and it is subject to your 9 months of article ship confirmation.

You article ship commencement have been considered by Institute from 26.12.2012.

29 October 2013 Thank you , but institute will be aware of my profile know , why they are asking to send the proofs of documents...?

03 August 2025 You're right to be concerned, and it's good you're checking early. Here’s what’s happening:

🔍 What’s the Issue?
You registered for articleship on 26-Dec-2012, but didn't pay the Direct Entry conversion fee at that time. You later paid it in April 2013, so the official conversion registration date in ICAI’s records is showing as 24-Apr-2013.

However, articleship commencement date is still 26-Dec-2012, which is the key for exam eligibility.

Now you applied for Nov 2013 attempt, and the rule says:

"You must complete 9 months of articleship before the first day of the month in which exam is held"
→ i.e., by 1st Nov 2013, and your articleship started 26-Dec-2012, so you just qualify.

📩 Why Did ICAI Send That Letter?
Even though they have issued your admit card provisionally, they noticed a discrepancy or delay in your conversion process, and now want to verify your eligibility formally.

They want:

Proof of articleship commencement date (likely Form 102/103 copy)

Proof of conversion fee payment

Any acknowledgments or receipts

✅ Will They Allow You to Write the Exam?
Yes — if you send the requested documents immediately and your articleship commencement is correctly proven as 26-Dec-2012, they will regularize your application.

ICAI does allow provisionally, and final approval is given after document verification.
You won’t be debarred unless your documents show you're ineligible, which in your case, doesn’t seem to be true.

📌 What You Should Do Now:
Send photocopies of:

Form 102/103 (Articleship registration forms)

Conversion fee receipt

Any email/letter that confirms your registration dates

Send it by speed post and email to your regional ICAI office (scan and attach).

Keep proof of dispatch.
