which coaching to take first?

15 October 2009 my attempt is in may'11. but many people are advising not to take accounts coaching first because the accounts exam may have an affect of IFRS on it. what to do?

15 October 2009 Hi swati,

Since your examination is 18 months ago, you should be cautious enough in taking coaching classes. Only DT and IDT are the papers for which one have to be very much careful.
For DT paper,you have to consider the A.Y. applicable for you in the exam.
For IDT, several notifications are to be taken care of. For May 2011, questions from notifications upto march 2011 may be asked.
So, coaching for these two papers are preferrably taken in last by students.

As far as Account or Financial reporting paper is concerned, you can take it whenever you find it suitable.IFRS is the most talked about topic nowadays. Every teacher has therfore incorporated this in his/her assignments. So, considering your articleship training and time availabilty, you can take classes for papers other than DT and IDT.

Also, as per the important announcement of our esteemed institute, ICAI, from nov 2008 onwards, the questions from practical life will be part of examinatuion papers. Also, there will be no choice of qns. So, you have to take your articleship training seriously as well.
