Hey Ram Chander! Here's the info you need:
1. TDS Rate Applicable on Data Feeding Charges Since you are providing data feeding (data entry) services, this falls under professional or technical services.
TDS on professional or technical services is generally covered under Section 194J of the Income Tax Act.
The TDS rate under Section 194J is 10% (assuming you have provided your PAN to the company).
Note:
If you do not provide your PAN, TDS will be deducted at a higher rate (20% or as per applicable).
2. Ledger for Booking Expenses The company should book this expense under something like “Professional Fees” or “Contractual/Outsourced Services” depending on your company’s accounting policies.
Since it's a service rendered (data feeding), it's a service expense and not salary.
Summary:
TDS Rate: 10% under Section 194J (professional/technical services).
Ledger Head: Professional Fees / Contractual Services Expense.
