31 August 2012 can anybody tell me whats the turnover limit for monthly, quarterly, half yearly & annualy for sale tax return? and what will be the last date for filing of return of those periods?

31 August 2012 The question is not clear. Turnover limit ??
It is only for taking RC which is based on annual turnover and not monthly or quarterly or half yearly. Once the RC is taken you have to file the monthly or quarterly return and annual return. There is no half yearly return. Since you have not mentioned your STATE, last date for filing the return is not replied.

E.g Tamilnadu : Monthly return
last date 20th of next month
Kerala : Monthly return
last date 15th of next month
Karnataka : Monthly return
last date 20th of next month

31 August 2012 Dear author,

If you can tell us your STATE, it is easier to reply the turnover limit for filing monthly or quarterly because each STATE VAT Act is having its own limit. There is no direct yearly return. The dealers who file monthly or quarterly will have to submit annual return irrespective of the turnover. All states have prescribed annual return format with CA certification etc.,
