We want to make an Annual Maintenance contract for our computers. As per the quotation we received the total amount of AMC is Rs.2.5 lacs. He is claiming Service tax @10.3%. Along with this he is asking for 4.5% VAT on total value(Service also). He is not registered under WCT. Please clarify whether we have to pay VAT. If yes on what value.

If the maintenance contract includes the material portion also, then both will be applicable
