How I have to calculate Vat on the electronic items if i have to include the cost of installation, for example:
If the total goods are for Rs 50,000
the installation charges are 2,000
on which cost the VAT is applicable
on 50,000 or on 52,000
If the total goods are for Rs 50,000
the installation charges are 2,000
on which cost the VAT is applicable
on 50,000 or on 52,000

It depends on how you raise the bill.If you club the two amounts i.e.the cost Rs50,000/- and installation charges Rs2000/- together then you then you have pay tax on the entire sum of Rs52000/-.You can seperately show installation in the bill and charge VAT on the cost Rs50000 only.....MJK
