can a company claim vat credit if the invoice is in the name of the director of the company..

If the invoice is raised in the name of the company director, normally, the department will not accept. The dept will assume that it is for the consumption of the director's personal use. Change the invoice, account it in the company books, and upload in the purchase list to avail the ITC.
