There is provisional registration certificate and still showing the screen to register but shows as migrated.

02 August 2025 If your provisional registration certificate says you are migrated, that means your existing VAT/service tax registration has been carried forward into GST.

### When can you upload data on GST portal?

* You can start uploading data (like returns, invoices) from the **GST migration effective date**, which is usually **1st July 2017** (or the date mentioned in your provisional certificate).
* Some taxpayers got the provisional GSTIN and migrated records early but the portal was made live for filing only from July 1, 2017.
* Check the **Effective Date of Migration** mentioned on your provisional registration certificate or in the GST portal dashboard.
