### What is TIN?

* TIN is a **unique identification number** allotted to dealers registered under the VAT (Value Added Tax) system.
* It is mandatory for a business to have TIN to trade goods within the state and interstate.

### Procedure for TIN Registration in Chhattisgarh

1. **Obtain Application Form:**

* Visit the **Chhattisgarh Commercial Tax Department** website or the local VAT office.
* Download the VAT registration application form or get it physically from the VAT office.

2. **Documents Required:**

* Proof of business address (e.g., rent agreement, electricity bill)
* Identity proof of the proprietor/partners/directors (PAN card, Aadhaar, passport, voter ID)
* Passport size photographs of the proprietor/partners/directors
* Proof of business constitution (Partnership deed, incorporation certificate, etc.)
* Bank details
* Sales and purchase details (estimate)

3. **Fill the Application Form:**

* Complete the VAT registration form with accurate business details.

4. **Submit the Application:**

* Submit the filled form along with all supporting documents at the nearest **Commercial Tax Office** or VAT department.

5. **Verification Process:**

* The tax authorities will verify the application and documents.
* They may also conduct a physical verification of the business premises.

6. **Issuance of TIN:**

* Upon successful verification, you will receive a **TIN Certificate** with your unique Taxpayer Identification Number.
