WHATS THE MAXIMUM TIME PERIOD WITH IN WHICH AN A.O. CAN ISSUE NOTICE UNDER 142(1).

no time limit prescribed under 142(1).

there is no specific mention abt the same in present income tax act.

however, needless to say that no 142(1) can be issued wherein the time limit under re-assessment is barred. Because once even the reassessment is barred, no action can be taken.
